As B&B owners we found that we were getting fewer bookings through traditional sources such as the Tourist Information office and the Visit Buckinghamshire booklet, so we had to find other means of marketing ourselves. We found the internet and now we are inundated with enquiries! We guess that upwards of 90% of our business now comes through the internet. Here's how:

Increasingly people now use search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN to satisfy needs for travel with search words such as 'cheap flight Dubai' or 'bed breakfast Marlow'. Yes! You have found us on page one together with other sites that we've designed. We are getting guests from all over the world - New Zealand, Canada and Germany being the most recent (and quite long stays too).

We are now bringing our expertise to other B&B owners. Bearing in mind that B&B's have limited budgets, our prices are extremely modest. We won't get rich but we believe we can make a living. Here's how it works:

1. Website Design:

For the modest one-off fee of £295 we'll do the following:

  • Design a website template 'look' commensurate with your property.
  • Describe your B&B over as many pages as you wish, but at least six.
  • Design the site with search engines in mind, paying attention to headers 1&2, metatags, keywords, content, links in & out etc.
  • Write the code in HTML 4.01 Strict!
  • Maintain and update your site as you wish for a period of one year.
  • Add links to your site as we develop new ones in order to enhance your search engine ranking.
  • Add a room availability page so you can exchange excess availability locally.

2. After one year

We shall offer the following for £75 per annum:

  • a) Continuing registration of the domain name and hosting up of your website.
  • b) Continuing maintenance of your website in terms of any changes whatsoever you wish to be made, and, of course, changes that we identify should be made in order to try and keep your ranking on the search engines.
